Homeschool Curriculum Picks 2022-2023: 3rd, 1st, and Preschool

As we gear up to start our next school year, I'm sharing what we've chosen for the different grade levels. This year I'll be teaching 3rd grade and 1st grade. I also have a 3 year old and a 21 month old.

We used Foundations A and B for my daughter's kindergarten curriculum last school year. We LOVED it! The multi-sensory learning approach is great! All the sounds intimidated me at first as well, but it really helped my daughter excel in reading. And they give you the "why" to the English language which is hard to articulate sometimes. Love watching your videos. I've picked up lots of great ideas from them!

We just decided on LLATL Yellow for my rising third grader and blue for my rising 1st grader (plus AAR). I’m so happy to see other people using it, it’s not talked about often, yet it’s a solid curriculum. I might add geography and art for fun 😅

We are on Foundations B for my soon to be Kindergartener! I absolutely LOVE the way LOE approaches phonics, and all of the components that go with it. From phonetics to spelling to writing to reading- it really is all encompassing and gives the kiddos so much confidence. I wound up purchasing the cursive right off the bat and let me tell you, my 5 year old's cursive rivals mine now 😆 These look like great picks for your school year!

Phonics Pathways made by the same publisher as Reafing Pathways...is one of the best programs for teaching reading. An oldie, but goodie for sure!

Would you say Logic of English Foundations A is a kindergarten or first grade level? I see some using it for kindergarten and others for 1st grade. I couldn’t find the manuscript version on their website. 😏
