Honda HR-V 2022 | Intelligent speed limiter

The limitations of an average speed limiter are obvious. When driving past the set limit, the system will only warn the driver with an alert sound and/or by using visuals. If no head-up display is available, the driver must look at the speedometer in the instrument cluster and adjust the speed. During this time, the driver cannot focus entirely on the road. The infotainment system in the Honda HR-V proofs that we can expect more from a speed limiter.

To select the intelligent limiter, the driver must click on the ACC button on the right side of the steering wheel first, then on the LIM button two times. Another click on SET will finally activate it. The intelligent limiter icon will immediately turn green. Now, the system tries to detect speed limit signs on the road to compare the allowed limit with the current speed of the vehicle. If it’s above the limit, the system will play a warning sound and slowly decrease the speed until the allowed limit is reached. The driver can’t accelerate during this process. When the system is done, the warning sound will stop.
