My husband and I saved a 1903 Victorian on Long Island, NY. Homes this old have a heart and soul that need to be restored and preserved for next generation!

I live in a 107 year old home and I've done wiring, all new copper plumbing, sheet rock, trim, cement foundation repairs, new roof, new garage, up and down baths. It's a labor of love and I've done all by myself for the last 30 years. Good luck on your project.

We bought a Victorian built in the late 1800's by the Presbyterian church for the clergy. There is a lot about your house that reminds me of ours. The banister, for one. We were told that the large post at the base (ours has a lamp right on top of it) has a safe inside in case the house burned down, you can put your valuables in there. Our staircase is 23 stairs long. At the landing is stained glass. I try to not let the love of our house get in front of the massive amount of money that a nearly 4000sq. Ft house needs JUST to be restored. The historic society has a lot to say about it, too. Would love to see what you did with it!

Gorgeous home! We are taking on a 1904 renovation and trying to document it through YouTube. You are an inspiration to us. We love older homes and the stories they tell of the past.

Thank you…. There needs to be more people like you to save these beautiful homes. Once they are gone, they are gone forever and a bunch of cheap ones are put in its place.

Heart wrenching video. Casey, I
hope you will have a chance to photograph the finished house or, at the very least, the restoration progress.

Oh my! I read what ya'all have done to this house and how it will prosper the community this is awesome. You are wonderful blessed people to being doing such a heavy chore at your age. You will probably live to be 100 and restore many more. This house is absolutely worth saving and thank you.

One is a parlour and one is a withdrawing room. I LOVE these houses. I want to be able to renovate one, but I doubt that will ever happen at this point. I am so happy you took this on.

God bless the people that keep these old homes alive. When he was talking about how this house was built without power tools, it moved something inside of me. There's an Anne Tyler book where a big part of the story is about a man lovingly building a house just so. I love old homes, and seeing them in disrepair makes me sad.
