PM Promises 'Light at the End of This Tunnel'

The Labour Party Conference continues today, with Keir Starmer set to deliver a speech outlining plans for the future and a promise of 'light at the end of this tunnel' but only after what he calls 'tough' decisions are taken to 'build a new Britain'.

‘Light at the end of the tunnel’? What a ridiculous cliche! What the country wants to see is genuine progress and a reduction in the cost of living, not these silly sound-bites! They could start by reversing the abolition of the Winter Fuel Payment to pensioners. We see politicians accepting thousands of pounds in freebies, but poorer pensioners have their £300 docked! Something wrong there. Shades of ‘Animal Farm’ methinks?
