I was looking for info on Weymann guitars (the Jimmie Rodgers conection) when I stumbled on this video. I often cringe when I see old instruments mis-used or misplayed, but this was a beautifully played piece to honour this instrument. I'm on my third listening. Thank you for the music. I understand that the guitar was rebuilt/refinished in 1993, and so I guess that's how it got the rosewood belly bridge. Nevertheless it is now still making fine music with Jens. That's a beautiful combination.

Oh my listen to the tone of that thing? Beautifully played as well. I’m guessing it has Brazilian back n sides.
I’m pretty sure this is what the brilliant Luthier John Arnold modelled his Jimmy Rodgers guitars on? There’s a video somewhere of Doc Watson playing one.

This is not a Jinmme Rogers model...see the Guitar Gallery, or Doc Watson video for a reproduction of the only Jimmie Rogers Special ever made which is in the country music hall of fame..There was a production model that has pearloid on it..A Nice Weyman, but not a Jimmie I used to own one of the three reproductions, but this guitar has no side strips nor wood purfling...A fine guitar, but not a Jimmie
