'This too Shall Pass' is a motivational story about the power of impermanence. The idea behind it is that whatever you may be going through in life, it is all temporary and will change. Nothing remains the same.

This fable dates back to as early as 1839, found in the works of Persian Sufi poets such as Sanai, Rumi, and Attar of Nishapur. There are also many versions of the story appearing in Jewish folklore, recorded by the Israel Folklore Archive at Haifa University.

The fable became popular in the Western world after its retelling by the English poet Edward FitzGerald in the 19th century. It was also employed in a speech made by Abraham Lincoln, just before he became the 16th President of the U.S.A., and today, it's translated and used in many languages across the globe.
