Have you watched the movie 13 Hours, starring John Krasinski, James Badge Dale, Pablo Schreiber, Max Martini, and Tony Stephens? It is based on the 2012 Benghazi attacks, assaults on a U.S. diplomatic compound and a nearby CIA annex in the city of Benghazi, Libya, on September 11–12, 2012, which resulted in the deaths of four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador to Libya - the first violent death of a U.S. ambassador since 1988. The incident sparked controversy and ignited a political firestorm in the United States. Bob "Ninja" Poras describes in detail how the GRS operators did the best they could with the hand they were dealt.

My initial thoughts were “our gov. didn’t send any help, because if they all die, they can’t say what really happened.”

I saw an AAR that said there were some 250+ dead bodies that night. Those boys cleaned house.

I thought the movie did a good job of showing the lack of leadership (White House, State Dept.) and the amazing Job GRS did to keep more people alive.

What a disaster administratively, I think the movie Argo came out like a day later and I watched it in theaters. When the embassy gets overran in the movie, it was gut wrenching to think about our people being deserted in Benghazi to a similar fate.

The respect & reverence these Operators have for their Colleagues that lived & died in this incident is amazing.
On that note, their disdain & disgust for the administration they worked for is palpable ... Shawn Ryan, thank you for giving these Hero's a safe place to tell their stories uninhibited.

I thought the film showed the incompetence of our government, and the amazing bravery and skill of the men who fought that day.
Maybe the incompetence wasn't completely exposed, but there's only so much time in a film.

I won’t watch that unless they edit it and add actual footage of the traitors responsible being executed. This whole thing makes me absolutely livid.

When leaving the Navy I still had time left on my TS clearance. Contractors all over our base in Africa were trying to get me to come on board for 6 months to a year or two. Doing anything from supply to construction to security for the company. I was so burned out after doing back to back deployments and seen first hand not having the protection of the U.S. military not backing you up could turn into. I was offered Africa, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan and Benghazi. With in 9 months after being home and getting out the poop hit the fan there. Props on those men who stood on that wall.

Movies focused on true events about special operations and operators, whether it’s sas, seals, delta, afspecwar, or even Afghan tier 1s…. There’s always that producer or screenwriter leaning a little one sided when it comes down to politics or the agenda they are trying to win over for the public now and then for viewers …. BUT ONE THING YOU CAN ALWAYS BET YOUR LIFE ON, THEM OPERATORS ALWAYS GAVE 1000%

Very respectfully, I strongly disagree. The movie was amazing and I absolutely feel it accurately portrayed Our brave men being left for dead, hung out to dry, completely abandoned by our corrupt and self-serving government. They deserved far, far better than what they got. 😢

Our boys can do a lot in spite of the assholes at the top, not because of them.
