Hi John, We had 2 T7s on lough derg a number of years ago. I never thought to undertake the work you did on yours. Its brilliant! sailing a Jouet 760 out of Kilgarvin now... maybe come up and visit us?

This is my first boat so I probably went OTT with some areas .
We have not been up as far as Kilgarvin yet .
Should meet some time this summer, possibly have a sail in T7 if you are up for it . It would be great to sail with someone who has previous experience of the T7.

One thing I regret about this project was not taking enough photos.

Other work carried out
Gel coat repairs above and below water line
Both cabin doors replace
Both life lines replaced
keel pull cord replaced and also cleat and mounting timber
Welding work was caried out on the trailer and all wheels replace
Tiller was sanded and revarnished
A new teak strip was installed on aft cabin hatch
Through hull depth sounder and tillerpilot installed

and many more small jobs

@lylegoodwin I just bought a T7 that started out in lough derg (1981), hoping to start a project like John’s. It's currently on the water.

Phil mortz has a good blog on Dufour T7 renovation .Good information from many T7 people maintaining etc. google dufour t7 blog.

I deleted your comment by accident.
A tender enough boat with an unballasted keel .
Fast in ligh wind but reef early is the key to this boat
Self tacking jib is handy for short handed sailing combined with a tiller pilot.
A big main sail on this boat so |i used always have on reef in the main
