Today we are going to travel on the Delhi Meerut RRTS from New Ashok Nagar RRTS station as finally Delhi is Connected with Meerut through RRTS. We are going to travel around 19 kms on Delhi Meerut Rapid Rail System and end our journey at Ghaziabad RRTS Station.
Delhi is a city and a union territory of India. It is bordered by Haryana on three sides and by Uttar Pradesh to the east. The NCT covers an area of 1,484 sq km (573 sq mi). According to the 2011 census, Delhi city proper's population was over 11 million, the second-highest in India after Mumbai. The Delhi–Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (Delhi–Meerut RRTS) is an 82.15 km (51.05 mi) long semi-high speed rail corridor currently under construction which will connect Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut. It is one of the three rapid rail corridors planned under Phase I of the RapidX project managed by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). With a maximum speed of 180 km/h (111.85 mph), the distance between Delhi and Meerut will be covered in less than 60 minutes. The project will cost ₹30,274 crore (US$3.8 billion) and will have 24 stations, including two depots at Duhai and Modipuram.
