Hillary Clinton campaigns amid renewed email probe

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton rallied a group of supporters on Halloween as her campaign dealt with a renewed FBI probe of emails sent to and from her private server.

Secretary Clinton ended a campaign swing through Ohio in Cincinnati. She spoke in front of the Roebling Suspension Bridge in front of a couple thousand supporters. Clinton was introduced by former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, who was shot in the head several years ago.

"There is a big majority of Americans, including a majority of gun owners, that stand behind and achieve common sense gun safety measures," Clinton said.

Clinton wasted no time addressing the big topic of the day: the FBI investigating emails found on a laptop owned by Anthony Weiner - the estranged husband of her closest aide, Huma Abedin. She accused the FBI of jumping into the election without any evidence of wrongdoing.

"If they want to look at some more emails of one of my staffers, by all means go ahead look at them. I know they will reach the same conclusion when the looked at my emails lasts year, right," Clinton said to cheers.

Her supporters in the crowd said they are standing by her.

"Hillary Clinton would be in jail if she actually did something and they would have convicted her. She would have long been gone," said Kristianna Dykes of Middletown.

Clinton also has the support of Vicky Coleman of Westwood.

"I'm not personally bothered by that. When Director Comey closed it, it was closed. These are Huma's emails," Coleman said.

Clinton urged supporters to vote early and encourage their friends and family to do the same. She discussed her desire to create jobs, mandate equal pay for women and protect LGBT rights - two thing she says her opponent won't do.

"Donald Trump has proven himself to be temperamentally unfit and unqualified to president and Commander-in-Chief," Clinton said.

Whoever wins Ohio typically wins the White House. The Real Clear Politics average of polls places Trump 1.3 points ahead of Clinton in Ohio.
