I so wanted Marner to disprove the "dumb jock" stereotype...holding my breath every street name. I turned blue.

Nylander: I can't even read so imma skip this one.

Proceeds to get Grosvenor right 😭😂

The 2 things I loved most about that were:
-watching people that grew up in Toronto complain about the names
-watching someone that is too young to have ever used dialup or internet have his clips edited with dialup noises

Like someone else said here Spadina is really supposed to be pronounced spa-dee-na. That was the original pronunciation but the common pronunciation gradually changed to “Spa-die-na” over time.

The king street W streetcar has got some great stops. Roncesvalles, Strachan, Tecumseth, all pretty close to each other. Great for tourists, haha.

3:53 Straw-n is how my family has always pronounced it. There's some family story about how when they immigrated from Scotland they changed the pronunciation but not the spelling to sound more Canadian. Not sure if that's true or just a story though.

Lol fun fact it's technically spah-deen-ah but we gave up on that. Named after a family. I belive something to do with casa loma :P

I don't blame ANY OF THEM for not knowing these names. I grew up in Mississauga and made all of their mistakes like Straw-chan/Strack-an, Queens Kew-ay, Ron-say-vall-es, I didn't even know Grosvenor was pronounced that way
