You'll be happy to hear I read interview with a vampire this halloween and loved it it was so gripping, although I wish I had read it as a teenager like you so I wasn't constantly picturing Stefan Salvatore. Italy always suits you - you're looking really pretty!

I loved Assistant to the Villain! I am surprised to hear it is getting so many negative reviews. I am definitely keeping an eye out for the sequel.

What a beautiful view of the sea. I too have been disappointed with the reading choices I made for Halloween. They were okay-The Haunting of Hill House and the Canterville Ghost. Maybe because I had seen the films before reading the books, they were just a check off on my TBR. Fiction sometimes never really compares to the great story telling of a nonfiction book if handled well by the author. Since you're in Sicily, I would read something local to Italy where you can just sink into it and be surrounded by it. So that it's a holiday and a learning experience. If I find a book about local legends or about someone or someplace famous in the area that I am visiting, I would buy that to immerse myself in it. Enjoy your vacation!

Read The House Next Door by Anne Rivers Siddon. It’s from the late 70s, I think. I read it this season and it was touted as the classic haunted house story. I really enjoyed your setting for this video. Have a great time.

I read a graphic novel on Artemisia's life but that was also greatly lacking and a lot of the focus was on side characters in her life. Hopefully out of the many books about her, a good one exists!

Artemisia Gentileschi's 'Susanna and the Elders' is a great painting, I think you can tell it's painted by a woman rather than the man, less of the male gaze, an excuse to paint a woman nude, more of the intrusive creepy nature of the men.
