You also got to remember that there's two sides to the alpha legion just like with their primarchs. Once they did their switcheroo you can kind of tell what each of them was trying to accomplish. Omegon cited with Horus in the cabal and was basically just a traitor. While alpharis just wanted to help his dad. The alpha legion was always meant to be fake traitors that was basically their entire role. But one of the twins got corrupted cuz space magic. One of them was always going to die on Pluto and that was going to cement the alpha legion into what they would be. Omegon got killed by dorn so alpharius shattered the legion and scattered them to weaken the chaos forces and stop a legion from getting to terra. After that who tf knows, not alpharius thats who

To be fare the chaos exist before human kind. What make them think all human die will kill chaos??? Like slaanesh is the youngest and yet the other gods is much much older. She who thirst was gave birth by the Eldar. Human didn’t create a chaos god yet. So why did their death will mean the end of chaos.

They need to end it in a "stalemate" because if you think about it, Horus needed to die for Chaos not to win, the Emperor needs to lose as well and technically win like being stuck in the throne for him to be technically dead because if he wasn't stuck in that chair, stagnation for the human race. Because if he were to die, he will just come back since he is a Perpetual which would doom humanity still. But with the current status of everything, Horus dead, and the Emperor technically dead, humanity will not fall into stagnation and pointless wars, but with the Emperor in stasis the wars that humanity will fight will not be "pointless" and this will keep humanity on their toes giving them "purpose" which is true if what the Cabal is saying about the Emperor true. Remember, the Alpha Legion is kind to unaugmented humans, their casualties are low and tend to give them jobs treating them well.

With 2 years notice, was there was really no way for the Emperor to win without being interred on the golden throne such as by stopping the Istvan 5 massacre/ stopping Magnus from breaking the new webway project/ killing Lorgar/ preventing Fulgrim from getting the evil blade/ sending Perterabo a box of chocolates and an encouraging letter addressed from The Emperor?
