He was achily abused by his parents. Endeavor didn't know how to cope with it. So he took it out on his children and wife. But really he was sorry for all of it inside. He just doesn't now how to express feelings that are anger. Because he only felt anger and saddens in his childhood.

Tried using Shoto for his own gain (and physically abused him)
And turned Toya down the path of villainy

While he is getting better, we should still remember that at some point he was a horrible person and father. That isn’t to say he isn’t showing improvement so good for him.

2. Shoto already got so traumatized from training that he has PTSD of every treadmill he sees.

3. Shoto is already traumatized from seeing endeavor throw him mom and abuse her.

4. Dabi already got burned and turned into a villain because of his abuse.

5. Fuyumi already is trying to make them have a good family but the tension from the trauma he gave them is holding them back.

6. Fuyumi already stepped up as a mother when Shoto was young for young Shoto.

7. Rei already got thrown and abused.

8. Rei already got used just for (a) child(ren) with (an) ice and fire quirk(s)
