How does a plane fly?
The short answer is differences in static pressure
You may have already heard the terms lift and drag. These are 2 of forces crucial for flight. They are the result of differences in airspeed above and below a wing, as well as before and after a wing respectively.
If an airfoil or wing is shaped or angled in such a way that makes air speed up or slow down on one side then that will cause a difference in static pressure. That means that the side with slower air is pushing towards the side with faster air. Static pressure is what helps drive those two fundamental forces, lift and drag. This is because of Bernoulli Principle which we will cover in another video.
