“Green Henna”

Показать описание
Rajasthani Henna powder (the type of powder I use) is made from the leaves of the henna tree so naturally the powder is nice and green.

Some powders can be darker green or lighter. And when mixed with lemon juice the paste can look bright green as well. For water mixes the paste can look more greenish brown. Lighting also plays a factor into how green fresh paste looks.

In any case, this paste when applied on the skin still stains skin reddish brown despite the paste looking green. So this isn’t “green henna” per se. Also, When the paste dries on the skin it looks brown.

Henna is coming actually from a leaf. I'm from kerala (In india)
For us, we wear henna sometimes regularly on nails, and on hands for weddings and other special occasions. We have this plants in our home surrounding or gardens, we grow it. And ones it grows, we'll pluck the vine out when we want, and plucks the leaves from it, and then grind it with adding some water. It will be green as this!. Organic hennas are actually good and others are chemical, which gives color within little bit time after keeping henna on hands. I believe henna powders are grinded henna leaves without water!

Henna is small leaf from a bush. In India we had it growing as a hedge. It cools your body.

There’s 2 types of henna . The greener henna is for skin and henna designs, the browner henna has multi use . You can use it for hair and skin. I wouldn’t recommend using the green henna on your hair.

It's so interesting watching u adding lemon juice into it, as a child I remember watching my elder sisters dabbing lemon dipped in sugar water onto their bridal mehendi.

I had henna plants growing up and we would take the leaves whenever we needed so I don’t think it gets cultivated once a year. The leaves grow pretty fast.

Henna is used all over India in many cultures. Gujarat, punjab, Uttar pradesh. It is used to dye hair and to make temporary tattoo designs. It is a major part of pre wedding rituals in almost all cultures in India. Women also apply it to their hands for major religious festivals.

...wOW I love this - it's soooo beautiful 🧡🤎❤ I have dyed my hair Henna the last 25 years...😂😁
I believe my own hair is all white by now🤫😅 I love the way it varies from time to time...
Do you know that you can help control the color yourself by, for example adding coffee to get a deeper brownish color, red wine to draw the red color more forward or tea for a more orange effect - that way you can help to pull the color in the direction you want... 💗
I have never tried Henna tattoo - but it's on my wish list...🙋🏽‍♀️
