This IB Physics video introduces the concept of thermal energy and how this changes the definition of internal energy. It then covers temperature and its relation to thermal energy, with regards to both Kelvin and Celsius. This is followed by discussing heat transfers and the three properties of materials that can affect heat transfer: thermal capacity, specific heat capacity, and specific latent heat. To finish, two questions involving specific heat capacity and specific latent heat are covered, along with a guided example of graphical extrapolation during a heat transfer experiment.
