Here is a typical Nashville Studio overdub drum session that I played on for artist Kevin Max. I run down the skills that you'll need to be ready when it's your turn to record in the studio.

The more Dr. Bob's videos I see, the more addicted I get to them. Best channel ever!!

Dr. Bob is the musical genius that we all wish we could be. Creative, skillful, exacting, articulate, flexible and fluid. Thanks Doc.

The amount of times I ran this back to see how you were sticking the tom roll at 9:30... That double on the rack tom threw me off. Butter.

Killer video! Dr. Bob demonstrates how to take direction, listen, and quickly understand what the producer wants while adding his own ideas and creativity to the song. This takes years to perfect. Practice, practice, practice!

Seems natural to see you behind a kit. The algorithm suggested your video and your name was so familiar. So, I did what any curious computer user does... I googled you and saw you grew up in Alexandria. We played together a half-dozen times at Anderson East Side on Sunday night when I went to AU and you were a mere teenager. It’s so great to see your success (and not surprising)! You are very talented and a great teacher. Thanks for the content. Blessings!

I’ve always had a thing for the drums/percussion. This was fun and educational

For 40 years this is all I wanted my career to be - and be on the mixing side of the glass, too...but it wasn't meant to be.

That guitar sound on that second track is pretty outstanding, interested to know what's being used there. My best guess is a Les Paul through some serious gain pedals or rack unit, doesnt sound like a kemper to me though. Very unique..very rock steady. Also the harmony effect almost sounds like a tc helicon

Another great video and lesson, but next time, any chance you can do it without the drum parts?

This is very cool. I somehow don't think of drums being dropped in in sections like this, but I guess there's no reason not to nowadays...

Would love to hear about the Jeff Lynne drum recording method. Controversial but cool.

Near the end of one of your videos it looks like there is a big speaker with a red light flashing to the click. What was that? I can't find which video now. Thanks!!
