That plot sounds similar to Tale of Two Towns... Two towns used to be close for hundreds of years and had a tunnel that connected them, then the mayors started fighting and the Harvest Goddess sealed up the tunnel and cut them off from each other. You have to get the towns to be friends again and open up the tunnel.

Looking forward to trying this game out. Never played a Harvest Moon game, but the visuals are pretty good. Plus, the idea I can just pack up the farm and move to a different town & climate is an interesting way to move the game along story wise and explore the world in a convenient way.

I'm sincerely intrigued by (and hopeful for) this entry in the series. The last few left me heartbroken, but it seems they've stepped it up a notch or twelve this time around – which, in a market dominated by cozy games, is not only necessary but inspiring. I'm with you: open world games have left me overwhelmed lately, and I think I've had my fill of them, but this seems like it spoonfeeds you enough at a time to keep you interested without making you aimless.

I'm planning to get it but a huge reason for wanting to get it early is honestly the plushie. It's so cute. This is the first HM game since Natsume made their own that looks like it will be really good. Just a small correction about the HM/SOS split: The devs didn't split. The Japanese company, Marvelous, wanted to use their own translator, XSEED, instead of the 3rd party company they had been using, Natsume. But they didn't buy the name Harvest Moon from Natsume so Natsume was free to make their own games under the Harvest Moon title. The new games are not related at all to the old games which is why the old games are being remade under the Story of Seasons title instead. In Japan all of the games (besides the HM ones after the split) are still called the same thing, Bokujo Monogatari. I'm not sure if they release the Natsume Harvest Moon games in Japan or not.

Open World sounds great! But... sadly, not all open worlds are great open worlds. They may be big in size but can easily feel empty when there is nothing to gather/explore and u just have to travel for long distances. I'm curious to see how this thing will work out in the end and will wait for the game to release and see reviews on it, before I'll buy it. Thank u so much for all the insights! <3

Gonna wait for a full review. While I definitely do like the artstyle their are some stuff here I’m not a fan of like being unable to change hairstyles, stamina loss when running, and marriage after the story to name a few. Nataume has not had the best track record either after the split. Plus a certain Dinosaur game releases on the same day so…

Thanks for making a video on this! I was a huge harvest moon fan as a kid but then moved to story of seasons after the split. I'm actually thinking about picking this up but am going to wait until I watch some streams. I worry about how it will run on the switch.
