SEASON 1 EPISODE 1 - Ren: The Girl with the Mark

It's an ordinary, peaceful market day in Lyngarth when 17-year-old Ren (Outlander's Sophie Skelton) bumps into a troop of soldiers searching for a pair of mysterious fugitives.

Ren: The Girl with the Mark is an independent fantasy action series directed by Kate Madison (Born of Hope). This is Episode 1 of 5.

Our series is the tale of a young woman who, after a strange encounter in the woods, is marked by an ancient spirit. Cast out from her small village, she is forced to leave behind the family she has spent her whole life protecting and journey across the land to find the real meaning behind the mark she bears.

All those months of post production certainly paid off if Episode 1 is anything to go by, and to think that all this was accomplished with a miniscule budget and the good will and hard work of scores of volunteers. Belting visuals, music and direction in something that wouldn't look out of place in the BBC Saturday night slot vacated by Robin Hood and Atlantis. Congratulations to all concerned.

this was amazing!!! Such an exciting first episode :) I love Ren's character development already...She stands out as a free thinker, unaware that her differences shall soon become illuminated...I can see that she is carefree but she soon will be faced with challenges that will cause her to question all that she has known. Can't wait to see how this unfolds, how she becomes a Marked One and what that entails. Also, the filming locations were absolutely stunning, stellar camera work, and just gorgeous visuals.
