“Damn— you look lost, need a hand?”
I’m overtaken by a wave of nostalgia at the words. Those were the first words I ever heard her say, right here, to me. At this museum my sister dragged me to with her then-boyfriend. It’s honestly amazing to think how much has changed in those five years. Her then-boyfriend and her got married. And the girl I met here and I were still strangers, but if you looked in between… I wish we could go back to in between.
I’m drawn back to the girl who spoke the words, and I feel like yelling and jumping and crying all at once. It’s her, of course it’s her. She’s saying those words to me once again.
This has happened before, exactly the same, yet everything is different. The same bright blue eyes, but there’s a certain heaviness behind them now. The same wavy hair that reaches down to her shoulders, but it’s dyed light brown instead of its natural black because she needed a change, something, after she left. After I made her leave.
But that… that was forever ago. I wonder, distantly, if she found someone new. Someone better. I don’t know how I feel about that, if I still have feelings for her. If she still has feelings for me.
I’m brought back to reality once again, staring into those expectant blue eyes. The second wave of nostalgia crashes over me, as I echo the response of the boy standing here five years ago, and mimic his playful frown.
“I think you mixed those phrases up. You ask someone if they need a hand if they’ve fallen down, and I, clearly, am upright. Did you hit your head as a child?”

There I stood shocked, looking at her in awe.
She didn't notice me yet, I thought. She looked my side and I smiled at her and she was stunned, she walks towards me making my heart skip a beat, she waves at me with the same lovely smile she had years ago...My memories flood back making me tear up, I wipe my tears away before she notices.

'Hi', she says in a akward way.
'Hi', I return back...

'Wanna catch up, take a walk??' I ask
She nods slightly, she was blushing I could see that pink tint on her pretty face.

The conversation starts and I learn she is a successful fashion designer and CEO. The conversation flows with guilt and happiness all together.

That night we reached homes with a lighter heart and brighter smile.

A familiar scent seeped into my soul.
Memories both painful and sweet filled my chest.

I looked up from my steaming coffee, and there she was.
Her smile lit up the room. For a startling moment my heart seemed to stop.
Time stood still.
She looked like a princess, more beautiful than i ever remembered.
A distant dream.
Something i couldn't touch again.
While daydreaming of her clear blue eyes. Her gaze met mine.
Her eyes subtly widened in surprise, she froze like she was struck by lightning.
Her gaze mirroring mine. Unable to hide the pleasure of seeing each other despite the pain.
"Hi."
"Hey."
And it felt like i was flung back to the first time we met.
I still loved her.
Terribly so.
And i still will.
Probably forever.
Though she wasn't mine.
