Hi, creator of the mod here. To answer some of your questions on what exactly this mod does:

-The spindash is now charged by mashing jump repeatedly while holding spin, specifically meant to emulate Sonic 3D Blast's spindash mechanic
--The spindash will keep the full charge that you put in as long as you hold the button, unlike the classic games. This was done for ease of access
--The spindash, as of classic.wad version 2.1, will automatically rev half of a full charge for you. This is intended to help players using WASD+Space/Shift layouts to get to a full charge faster, this can be turned off with console commands if you want.

-Running down slopes now gives you speed, in vanilla you run at the same speed no matter what. To account for this, the amount of speed you gain from rolling down slopes has also been buffed from vanilla to where you can actually notice it.

-Sonic has no ability by default. He should be able to use whatever ability addons you give him though, but by default I based his moveset on Sonic 2.
-Every character can turn super. In vanilla you have to unlock a cheat to do this and you can't even turn super as Tails with it, this fixes that.
-Amy was given a hammer leap as I felt it was fitting for her playstyle. Hold Custom 1 and press spin to convert your horizontal momentum into vertical height!
-You have full control over your character when jumping out of a roll. In vanilla, the game restricts your movement by a fair amount if you try and do this normally.
--As a fully intended side effect, you also lose the watter skipping mechanic when spinning on top of water.

-Super Sonic and Speed Shoes now grant you acceleration boosts while using them. I don't know why the game doesn't do this normally but it's in the classic games so it probably should.
-I ended up reworking dashmode (Metal Sonic's ability) entirely. You now have to run on the ground for 6 seconds by default in order to attain boostmode, this can be shortened down to one and a half seconds depending on how many rings you have. How many rings you have also influences how much acceleration you have, this was done to replicate Sonic Advance 2/3, where the ability originally came from. You can still charge it up via a spindash and collecting rings will also make this charge up faster.

With mods like this, I keep saying someone really need to figure out how to properly add "loops" in this game. The moment someone achieved that, the moment this game becomes even MORE complete then it already is now.

classic sonic you could go as fast or slow as you wanted. Sonic had more than one path which gave it a exploration type feel to eventually figure out potentially the best route. Wish sonic went through some more evolution like mario did. This mod is sick though, the way I would play it.

Mod ideas to bring SRB2 even closer to Classic:

1: Ceiling Physics Override. This would just act as a simulator of 360^2° physics until they can actually be implemented in 2.3, giving Sonic a wall/ceiling-run ability that activates when touching a wall or ceiling at a speed that scales depending on the slope angle.
2: SRB2 Stretched. This is like SRB2 Thicc but stretching the vertical scaling of everything instead of x and z. This would be done to make the slopes steeper.
3: Jump Height Fix. I like Sonic's vanilla jump, but I know that it would be too low to reach anything with Mod 2.

It seems you can't run up slopes easily no matter the grade, but I'm willing to make that concession to be able to gain speed running down slopes.

I can't post on the forums bc I don't have an account, but I think this mod should be broken up into a bunch of small ones which each implement a feature, so that parts of it could mesh with the Momentum Mod.
