Peter Cetera – The Voice of Chicago and Master of Melodies

Born today, 1944, South Side of Chicago. Vocalist, bassist, singer, songwriter, producer Peter City learned he had singing talent. At 11, one of the guitar's parents got him an accordion, but at 12 he won an accordion talent contest. By 15, he got his first guitar, and by 18 he was in his first professional band. The Exceptions. By 1967, he saw this Van Horn band called the Big Thing. Wanted to join them. They needed a vocalist. They formed Chicago and by 1976 they had their first number one hit. And other great Chicago tunes. Now, by 1981, he put out his first solo album. In 1985, he left Chicago and went completely solo with another hit. He sort of semi-retired now. Amazing vocalist Peter Cetera.

Peter Cetera is the voice of the 80's, he defined many things for our generation BUT Jason Scheff did an amazing job for Chicago also!

He went to Mendel on the Southside. He used to hang with St Rita and Marist kids. I'm a big fan. Michael flantley pretty sure spelled his name wrong but was part of the old river dancing who was a 2 time golden glove champion if not mistaken in around same time as as Peter

Peter cetera always claimed to be the voice of chicago that being said "yes" he had a great voice but Terry Kath was the original voice of the band too bad he died at such a young age
