Lyrics:

This is the room, the start of it all
No portrait so fine, only sheets on the wall
I've seen the nights, filled with bloodsport and pain
And the bodies obtained, the bodies obtained

Where will it end?
Where will it end?
Where will it end?
Where will it end?

These are your friends from childhood, through youth
Who goaded you on, demanded more proof
Withdrawal pain is hard, it can do you right in
So distorted and thin, distorted and thin

Where will it end?
Where will it end?
Where will it end?
Where will it end?

This is the car at the edge of the road
There's nothing disturbed, all the windows are closed
I guess you were right when we talked in the heat
There's no room for the weak, no room for the weak

Where will it end?
Where will it end?
Where will it end?
Where will it end?

This is the room, the start of it all
Through childhood, through youth, I remember it all
Oh, I've seen the nights filled with bloodsport and pain
And the bodies obtained, the bodies obtained, the bodies obtained

Where will it end?
Where will it end?
Where will it end?
Where will it end?

Notice how he asks where it will end instead of when? It's because he's accepted that it's forever. I love how this song paints vivid mental imagery of some tragic noir film.

The Doors of the late ‘70s...ahead of their times. Couldn’t even wait until 27 like any decent legendary fellow.... ahead of HIS time even in suicide. -HATE

The word 'lord' - a contraction of 'loaf- warden'- was informed by the legend of a certain king who realised it wasn't just loaves that were burning. That was the day the Lords got together and settled the burning problem of their time.
"Eala þeodnes þrym!
Alas proud prince
Hu seo þrag gewat,

How that time has passed,
Genap under nihthelm,
Dark under night sky
swa heo no wære.
AS IF IT NEVER HAD BEEN."

[Old English poem; The Earthstepper/Wanderer]

First JD song I ever heard (on John Peel). Still absolutely love it. Hasn't dated at all.

Theme song of all the victims and survivors of psychiatric drugs (neurotoxins) and their withdrawal.
