Module 0: Introduction to the Course

The UNCCD - Capacity Building Marketplace (CBM) links all existing and emerging supply and demand that relate to capacity for the meaningful implementation of the Convention, for all concerned directly or otherwise with the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) process. The creation of the necessary capacity for all stakeholders is an essential element in the Marketplace realizing its objectives. The Marketplace does this in many ways, including through developing e-learning and other courses.

This e-learning course has been developed to provide an introduction to the UNCCD, its structure and institutions, and the process of its implementation. At the end of this e-learning course participants should have a general understanding of the core issues of the Convention, how it operates, and what are the processes for its effective implementation.
