Also the beard/hair from behind has been described as dripping blood on the ancient Gorgon depictions. Which do you prefer? The Greek Gorgon or the African Bovine Gorgon?
Please share with other monster/mythology enthusiasts:

i always found pazuzu in the exorcist very creepy, i absolutely love medusa in the clash of titan films, original and the remake, medusa was the only ok part of the remake, the rest trash, medusa was beautiful before she used cursed by Athena.

the blob would absorb her and most greek gods..what you say?

theoretically, this is the most powerful monster in Greek Mythology. with that gaze that turns people to stone, she could very well defeat the gods themselves and the Greek of the monsters, Typhon.

Alright, you did your research, bravo. And yes, I give my vote to a Medusa video. And later on, a gargoyles video (you mentioned it and sounds interesting).

World of MONSTERS, will you do a video on Revenants? They are a VERY underrated and underused monster in fiction tbh.

I did not know the etymology of Gorgon, or the connection to Humbaba or Pazuzu (it's a logical connection I never made before)

The face may be a general human expression of threat-we see Rakshasa, Oni and Buddhist demons with similar faces (tusks and all) and in Maori art and culture bulging eyes and protruding tongues are war and challenge expressions (seen in war haka for example) to threaten and intimidate enemies. .

So we have a mix of "ogre guardian" and "natural feminine power of snakes". Never thought of it that way, but again it makes sense.

Yeah, the Catoblepas and Gorgon were confused with each other by the medievalists
