People say its disgusting, but those tools they mentioned didn't exist in the past.
And if your baby can't breathe through their nose depending on how young they are they could unfortunately suffocate due to not being able to breathe and die.
Generally babies aren't developed enough to learn how to breathe through their mouth until 3-4 months after they're born.
So that minor bit of disgust is pretty small in the grand scheme of things if any parent cares about their child.
Albeit I know my parents used a straw when I was younger, and my older brother used the suction tool for my niece.
Honestly the booger part isn't the part that sucks, but its the fact if your child is sick and you do this you'll 100% get sick as well.

I know its disgusting but thats how some of us here in SEA do it. It thankfully is an obscure method now with the bulb syringe but sometimes you dont really have a choice. And before some lunatic asks. No. We dont swallow the damn thing. Ive only done it a couple of times but thats a couple of times too many. Would not recommend at all but if you dont have any suction tools of somekind unfortunately you dont have a choice...

It's actually a common thing with parents. I once saw my cousin do that. He would suck his son's nose to take out the fluids... And I was just stunned, and started questioning myself. Would I do the same thing when I become a parent?
