I think the biggest reason they split is also because Nancy wasn’t herself around him in season one… she felt like she couldn’t show herself completely because she wanted him to like her. That’s why i’m season four she has feelings for him… she realizes that he’s changed and that she can open up to him now. They’ve both been there for each other through so much, and with season five approaching I think their relationship will be confirmed completely.

The transition between the slap and the car crash from s3 was golden. I've never seen those scenes cut together that way and it's such a great way of communicating the "biggest thump on the head" he's ever gotten.

I got super sad when Steve sees her from afar and then he leaves alone in his car, my heart ached, because of Steve's look, and that's when I understood that Steve really loves her.
I started watching S3 and I always had the feeling that Nancy hadn't closed her story with Steve mainly because...
1. Nancy and Jonathan seem to have problems over and over again in S3, as only a shared trauma brought them together, it is so evident that when they are separated and when nothing happens to Will, they cannot love each other.
2. Steve telling Robin that he only fell in love once and it was with Nancy Wheeler. so he only liked Robin, he doesn't love her like Nancy.
3. Robin asks Steve if he still loves Nancy and he takes a long time to answer until he says NO.
4. Nancy treated Robin badly in S3.
5. Steve sensed that something was wrong in the Starcourt shopping center because Nancy's group did not answer the radio, he was the first to go to see what was happening, because he knew something was wrong, Robin followed Steve this is deja vu With the scene of Nancy jumping upside down by Steve in S4, Robin followed Nancy, the impressive thing about this is the time that Nancy and Steve react when the other is in danger is seconds.
6. Saved Nancy and Jonathan from being run over, deja vu with S1 with the demogorgon.
7. Steve went to check the ambulance where Nancy and Jonathan were and made sure they were okay.
8. This is from a scene in S2 that made me reinforce this more and that's when (Steve goes to Barb's funeral), he wasn't Nancy's boyfriend anymore, a lot of people accused him that he was only there for Nancy and not because he felt guilty for Barb, and to me it's still a gesture of empathy, whatever his motives, Steve put aside his pride and went because he knew it was important to Nancy, if Jonathan was Nancy's ex, he wouldn't have accompanied.
POV: When the thriller S4 came out in the part that says
Steve: see you on the other side
nancy: on the other side
I felt tension and chemistry between them with just a bit of Thriller.

Unsure how anyone dislikes the relationship, Steve is there best character in the show and Nancy is very sweet, caring and easy to root for. Match made in heaven.

In seasons 1-3 I didnt like Stancy and I liked Jancy better. But now that Ive seen season 4 and watched how far both of them have come in terms of personal growth, I am Team Stancy ALL THE WAY!! :)
