I have a large Cuisinart and a small Black & Decker multi from 30 plus years ago. I use the small one several times a week. Easy to get out, use, move, clean. Very practical for little jobs. I use the big one for bigger jobs like shredding cabbage, slicing lots of onions, making large batches of hummus, etc. If you love to cook and can afford and have room for both sizes, get them both!

I love my Breville processor since it has a smaller bowl that fits in the larger one, essentially meaning you have both sizes in one. It's great.

I learned to drop in the garlic cloves while the blades are going. A very efficient method. Stop when everything is stuck to the sides. To the person who commented why use a FP for a few cloves of garlic, it’s for the beginning of a recipe, such as hummus, pesto, etc. The garlic chops up much better than with all the ingredients together.

I bought the small Cuisinart ages ago. How long ago? It was 29..00! Finally, had to get rid of it because of cracks ... the blades started to crack, the plastic started to crack ... I worked the hell out of it, to be honest. I subbed it for Kitchen Aid "medium" 6-cup processor. I'm very happy with it. In fact, I have two. As a single person, I simply do not need nor would I use or shell out money for a large food processor. Small ones are too small. 6-cup is just right.

Title is misleading--this is about which size food processor is best for the job.

Drop the garlic cloves in with the machine running adding each one after fully minced, then proceed adding remaining ingredients. This a technique I learned from Rick Bayless 15 years ago.

I have the large Cuisinart. I do love it, but it needs a secondary flat lid to save time on cleanup. The harder it is to clean, the less you want to take it out

Our large Cuisinart is 30+ years old now and works as well as the day it was bought.

I have a Kitchen Aid with two sizes of work bowl. It performs close enough to the Cuisinart my sister owns. I use a stick blender to make mayo typically, but if I do use the food pro, the small work bowl truly does perform better. When it comes to pure muscle and efficiency, I don't know anything that compares to a Robot Coupe; but I've only used them in restaurant kitchens. They are not priced for the home consumer.

Not being a hardcore user (1-2 times each weekend) and have limited space, I love my Breville All In One Processing Station BSB530XL.

I have the small Cuisinart that they’re showing in the video and I have another Cuisinart a large one but a different model. I love my Cuisinarts and when my big one goes I’m gonna get the one that’s in the video that’s been on my list for a while, but this Cuisinart, I have just keep going. They are good models.

Thanks for the reviews! I will use your recommendation if my 25 yr old Kitchenaid processor ever wears out. So far it has been wonderful.

I have the Breville 16qt Sous Chef food processor, and I love it. I went with it a few years ago when Cuisinart was having some quality control issues. One thing I love about the Breville is the mini bowl it can with. I was wondering if you compared any of the accessory small bowls to the separate mini food processor. The mini bowl that came with my Breville works great, and contains whatever you put in it so well that it doesn't get the big bowl dirty at all.

I bought the 14-cup two food processor-reviews ago, before they re-engineered the clearance (although the newer model was still the top choice). It was expensive, to me, for a food processor, but it is one of the best investments I ever made for my kitchen. I use it for all kinds of things, but especially love it for cheese grating. It is fast, efficient, and quiet.

I have a 9 cup kitchenaid that I thrifted for $15 brand new in the box. It does the job when I want to make a quick salsa or hummus.

I've been using the Custom 11 since 1989. One of them is still the original I bought in 1989. Workhorses and we've had them in all our kitchens. Best thing is that the motors never seem to wear out and you just have to replace the bowls every few years - not because they're defective but because we wear them out.

I came down right in the middle with the Cuisinart Pro Custom 11. It does a great job.

ATK recommended a few years ago for home cooks to purchase a Cuisinart model. It’s fine, but my pulse button works like the normal ‘on’ button. So no real benefit. My mini Kitchen Aid however, is amazing!
