China boosts cooperation projects in Africa on principles of equality, fairness, openness

China has always stayed committed to the principles of equality, fairness and openness when boosting the Belt and Road Initiative cooperation projects, allowing African countries to explore a broader world market, according to former Africa Union Commission’s Deputy Chairperson Erastus J.O. Mwencha. Mwencha said African countries have made great strides in various fields with assistances of China, while some of them once lived in the shadow of Western colonizers and were denied freedom of trade. He also noted that some Western countries have alleged that China has made use of loans and infrastructure projects to trap African countries such as Kenya, which is a complete distortion of facts.
