NEU!'s 'Hallogallo' - Michael Rother & friends at Lincoln Center on August 6, 2010

Michael Rother (NEU!), Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth), and Aaron Mullan (Tall Firs) playing "Hallogallo" during the Hallogallo 2010 concert in Lincoln Center's Damrosch Park Bandshell as part of the Lincoln Center Out of Doors series. The Hallogallo 2010 performances have been the first live presentations of this music by either of the members of NEU! in 35 years.

thanks for posting this! it was indeed a really good show, nicely building from slow and dreamy to danceably dreamy...thanks to the bravery of first responders (two people known for getting a party started), there was a mob of people dancing by the end of this show, rapping up a really good night...

He's doing it almost right.

'Motorik' is what the funk/soul guys used to call '4 on the floor.' You don't leave a hole for the snare on the 3 -- you keep the kick going underneath the snare hit.

It's a simple beat on paper, but it's hard for a lot of rock drummers to do without getting their arms and legs tangled up.

That said, no complaints at all about Steve Shelley.
