KC Venugopal Calls Kanhaiya Kumar As A Symbol Of 'Fighting For Freedom Of Expression In The Country'

Communist Party of India (CPI) leader Kanhaiya Kumar and Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani joined the Congress on Tuesday in the presence of senior party leader Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi.
In an event at party headquarters in Delhi, Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh said the two young leaders joining the Congress was a special occasion. He said both Kanhaiya Kumar and Jignesh Mevani have been vocal against the Modi government at the Centre and have been championing cause of those on the margins.
Congress general secretary KC Venugopal called Kanhaiya Kumar as a symbol of "fighting for freedom of expression in the country".
