I've been diving with this vest for a year and 150+ dives now under my drysuit here in British Columbia Canada and it has been a game changer. 100min dives in 7°c water are still chilly even on high but with out it they were not possible. One note to look out for is the button on the controller. It has a threaded collar that holds the button into the body of the remote. Keep an eye on this and keep it tight. They can back off over time. Also for extra maintenance it's nice to know that you can remove the button and spring to get sand or other stuff out of the button area with out compromising the waterproof integrity of the remote.

James, I was suppose to be down to do some diving back on January 15 & 16 but ended up not being able to travel. My brother was down and I was asking him if you was on the boat to which he confirmed and said you had a "heater" on that you was controlling by a wrist remote. Impressed by the review, was looking to order one. Venture heat website shows no stock of the Large. When I asked when they would have more I was told early fall!

You'd have thought they wouldn't bother sending stuff out for review if they don't have any stock to sell off the back of it.

Those connectors are known as EO connector and can be connected and disconnected underwater. They are not the greatest but kinda the industry standard if you have a look at some high end canister lights you will see them used there.

You talked about corrosion on the electrical connections have you considered using a coating of dielectric grease to protect them?

Rip curl brought out a similar thing a few years back for surfers. Worked a treat in fact worked too well even in Cape Town it was a bit warm

you forget to say there are 3 models of the vest, 2 different materials to choose from : neoprene softshell or 3M thinsulate made. only back heating or back and front.

I would be very worried wearing the battery under my drysuit. A malfunction could cause serious burns. With an external battery, you simply toss the thing.
