Actually missed episode 5 live & kinda forgot about it until today. Caught up on DVR but the FLCL sequels haven't lit the fire the way FLCL OG did when I was 12. Hopefully some younger people who saw the sequels as it's own show & not something with such huge shoes to fill enjoyed it for what it was. Overall the gut feeling of nervousness when they were announced was proven accurate for me.

So the ending scene where haruko got sucked into the red tunnel got me all confused. She saw naoto and scenes from season one flashing before her eyes. Does that mean she going to his world? Or does that mean he was so important to her that she saw him flashing before her very eyes. Also where did she go?

And that ending ended up sucking big time. At least Progressive's ending actually made sense.

In the end, they did nothing interesting with the girls and it ends on a bizarre note leaving the viewer wondering what the hell just happened. The whole Pets thing ended up completely unresolved without her appearing at all.

So yeah, I'll stick with Progressive. At least it had a happy ending.

I feel like I'm not going to miss this show. Alternative has been a total bore compared to Progressive.

Seriously, they have yet to do anything interesting with these new girls.

This was a terrible season... they both were so so so disappointing. Progressive less so but both do not hold a candle to the first.

These seasons should have never happened.

Worst episode of all 18 episodes? This one for sure. It was beyond boring.
