Adding an APA running head and page numbers in Word

If your page numbers are the same:

Re-insert page number, but DON'T DELETE IT. Instead, just tab the number all the way to the right. Then, write your running head on the left side again.

You are NOT supposed to have the phrase “running head” on any page of your paper including the title page. The logic: we know its a running head. Do you put the word “title” before the name of the title of your paper? Also The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th edition clearly states this (page 37 of the wire bound manual). “do not include the label “Running head” to identify the running head on any page (see the sample papers at the end of this chapter).” This book is basically a requirement in college. In high school we had to know both MLA & APA like the back of our hand and we knew NOT to do this. I cant believe this video has been up for 7 years with this oversight. Get the book people even if its not a requirement due to your courses being online, if the book is out at your school, visit your local Barnes and Noble as they are typically in stock there and there is no wait to have it shipped, or extra charge for it to be overnighted through APAs customer service team. Buy the book and stop second guessing, or being unsure about questions in your paper. It will be the best $45/46 dollars you’ve ever spent.
