When he left I was over him...and that has not changed. Jared Goff is my Lions QB...period.

I am a Canuck from across the river and I absolutely love Detroit, I love how the city has picked its self up out of the ashes and dusted its self off, i feel like the lions are the same kinda story. He left, bye

Let's not forget Kelly saying we were booing her kids which is the biggest joke of all of this

Guy was a Lion for a long time. Best of luck. No hard feelings. Like you said, "Stafford needed to go."

Born and raised in 313...48 zipcode... Moved to NY in 2002. Still rock Detroit Gear EVERYWHERE I GO...and traveled to 5 of the 7 continents... Detroit vs Everybody!!!! Husband bez be a Lions fan...lol. I love this city. IMO... Stafford clocked out/quiet quit on us at least 2 years before he left. Yes!!! He's. An. Ex! On to the next. I don't wish him no ill will...at the same time not going out my way to root for him either. On the field...You're the Op... not wear dat Honolulu Blue...get popped. It's as simple as that! Are you a Villain or not! Are you a Lion or not? One Pride..ride or die💙🏈🦁

Matthew Stafford is a class act, he has done a lot for the city of Detroit and maintained his connection with the city of Detroit. But when he said he wanted to show them what they’re missing, as you correctly pointed out Derrick, it was Matthew Stafford who wanted to leave and not be part of another rebuild. It wasn’t the Lions that were pushing him out the door.

Matt ain’t do nothing wrong. He tried his best with what he had. I remember back when we first drafted him and his early injuries. He went through a lot just to get to that first Super Bowl.

I agree with you. I wasn’t born and raised in Detroit. I was born and raised in Honolulu. And even I wouldn’t root for Matthew Stafford when he plays against our Lions. I’m going to root for our Detroit Lions and Jared Goff against the Rams and Matthew Stafford. All day!

the difference between Barry and Calvin leaving... was they retired. Stafford was traded and one a SB in his first year after being FREE of the Lions. Didn't look like they were going to change. Them man went through 3 coaches and Campbell would have been the 4th. Of course he had to go. It ended up good for him and for the Lions. I will always be grateful to Stafford... he was so much fun to watch.... he gave me hope. They have now built a better team. Something that should have been done when Stafford was younger. But it wasn't. I still think that Stafford is the better QB between Goff and Stafford. But Goff is on a much better built team.

As a Lions fan who now lives in SoCal, I still can’t even imagine rooting for another team. After Stafford got traded out here, I thought maybe then (after living here for 9 years already at the time) I’d finally adopt a local team to root for, but nope! It didn’t happen. It’s all Honolulu Blue and only Honolulu Blue. 🦁🦁 the same goes for Michigan and the other sports teams in Detroit. I got my teams. It doesn’t matter where I live.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. I’m a Lions fan. I don’t know the players personally, I just appreciate them for contributing to a common goal. That’s why it’s so creepy when people obsess over celebrities personal lives.

Matt did give us hope. There was none before that, since Barry quit. I don’t cheer him, but give him a golf clap.

'stafford is dead to me' lol. I'm happy for him, and I'm happy for us in Detroit. It's rare we get a win win.

Moved to Texas 10 years ago....Still a Lions fan. People gave me so much crap about staying a fan for this long....I was in the office after the 2014 Dallas Game....And after this last issue with Dallas...made me feel amazing after this year against EVERYBODY.

I am a lions fan, I live in Mississippi, but I have been to Detroit twice, but never been to a game, I need to save some money to go to a home game in Detroit.

💯 on the same page with you. I feel the same way and always have since he left. I am and always will be for the Detroit lions. You hit the nail on the head with this. Goff has taken this team farther than he ever did.
