Kino was a secret experimental facility hidden by maxis from most of group 935 where they took humans and experimented on them turning into an undead army for the Germans

It could be a nod to Return of the Living Dead. Where zombies from Romero’s OG night of the living dead are in military pods and the whole movie’s premise is that one of the pods broke and one escaped infecting a bunch of others. Kind of a corny movie but worth the watch

It's an Easter egg to the movie The Return Of The Living Dead, I'm pretty sure. The zombie outbreak is started when a barrel holding a corpse and a bunch of military test chemicals is broken open accidentally by some morgue employees
