Quite a few of these pictures are not of North Korea. Some are from South Korea and others from films such as the bathroom pictures. It would be much better if the photos were 100% from the North and that the thumbnail was not a thirst trap click bait.

Went there for a week back in 1992. Utterly bizarre and scary place. Pictures of the "Great Leader" and "Dear Leader" in every hotel pins with their pics worn by EVERYONE. Two TV stations....one for just military style music and slide shows of pictures of the country and the other for propaganda films. Every time we drove around the quiet and empty streets of their capital city, Pyongyang, the tour guide would point out their wonderful department store....just never let us shop there or in fact, get close enough to take a picture...because it was empty. And if you dared to stray a little away from the group to take a photo of the local tenement buildings, an armed guard was there in a second to stop you.

In 2014 I was fortunate to visit as part of my company presentation for a dredging project, it’s absolutely bizarre, the one thing I take away is the smell of human shit in the countryside due to fertilisers not being available, on leaving country all my camera equipment was confiscated, anyone who complains about Democracy and lack of freedoms in UK have not got a clue.
