Steve Lawrence was a frequent guest on The Carol Burnett Show, but the two actually first worked together a full decade earlier, on The General Motors 50th Anniversary Show—a two-hour all-star musical extravaganza, broadcast live on NBC-TV on November 17, 1957, produced by my dad (Jess Oppenheimer). In this rarely seen kinescope, Carol Burnett, Steve Lawrence and Dan Dailey sing Jerome Kern's "The Bullfrog Patrol."

Omg! I had no idea Carol Burnett and Steve Lawrence went back that far. Loved his appearances on her variety show later on! Thank you! 😁

We had the LP of the whole TV special, and I may have worn out this cut.

I don’t think of Carol as a singer but she held the stage with some pretty great singers, Julie Andrews, Marilyn Horne, Eileen Farrell and many others. She fit in, often carried the song, had impeccable rhythm and harmony, and sometimes as in her Broadway melody with Julie at Carnegie Hall, shifted voices and wailed on great standards as a legit singer. And she made it all look easy.
