my favorite pronunciation of Worchestershire sauce is "Unfortunately, I saw a woman get hit by a taxi yesterday" sauce.

I deliberately add far too many syllables to worcestershire sauce so that everyone thinks I’m just being funny when I am actually hiding the fact that I have no idea to pronounce it.

Is no one gonna talk about the person that said they saw someone get hit by a taxi completely unprompted?

There is so much War in the Worchestershire sauce community

Fyi, towns in England with the "cester" (not "chester") suffix are mostly pronounced in that same abbreviated way:
Worcester = "Wooster"
Gloucester = "Gloster"
Bicester = "Bister"
Towcester = "Toaster" (Yes, really)
The odd one out is Cirencester, which is pronounced "Siren-sesster"

2:27 the upside down e is called "schwa" and in the international phonetic alphabet it represents the o in bacon, the last i in infinite, the a and o in abandon etc. Bassicly, an unstressed vowel

I love the fade out Worcestershire 😁 Like a last breath of air before blinking out of existence 👌🏼

Here in Brazil, it's just called "English Sauce"

The irony of matt mispronouncing pronunciation in his video about mispronunciation is amazing.

As someone who lives in worcestershire, I find this video distressing at a minimum.

I think you should make a video on how people pronounce Worecestershire sauce please

This just shows how ambiguous English ad hoc pronunciation spellings are. We should be teaching people the International Phonetic Alphabet.

The real question is, can Matt Rose pronounce "pronunciation"?

For me, I’m so busy worrying about how to pronounce it that I end up saying ‘wosheshta’

The courage to go to a shop and ask for wombat sauce is more than I could muster

The way my heart died a little bit at hearing “upside down ‘e’” rather than “schwa”.

I once worked for a chef who simply called it “woo-woo”

I can't even type how I say it, I say it really fast and with a Scottish accent. My exs American family got me to say it, and immediately regretted even asking and went back to what they were saying instead, lmfao.
Thereafter, sometimes I would wake up, roll over, look at my ex, and just say worchestershire sauce at her. Instead of hello or good morning, or I love you. Lmfao

I'll try typing how I say it... wursh-chur-shur sauce? But really fucking fast. It took about 5mins for me to try break it down enough that I could understand how I say it in pronounce form...

I still go by that old Italian man on youtube who pronounced it "wan-ches-ter-shine sa-u-ché"
