BMW RR Fest at COTA! Intermediate Group

3rd track day at COTA and slowly making progress.
Went from running a 3:20 lap time to 2:50! I've got a few things to work on like head movement and being more comfortable at high speeds in corners, but all that comes with practice and time.

Hope you all enjoy the progress and maybe also learn something from my riding!

Looks like your BP is dialed in and you know the track well, now it's a matter of being consistent and hitting the apexes and you'll that time drop. I was trying to see your brake action on 1, 11, 12, but the camera is pointing on the wrong direction. Just based on your right-handers, I can tell you that you'll find a lot of time on the brakes, but you have to be very smooth with it. For example, at 14:26, you activate and release the brakes too abruptly for my taste. You want to be very smooth on the brakes, specially when releasing them. The brakes affect the suspension, do it smoothly and the bike will feel settled and you can take corners fast, do it abruptly and the bike will feel unstable and might cause the front tire to lose grip. This is a technique you can practice on the streets; practice braking hard and feel the suspension compress, then slowly release the pressure until you're finally off them. Remember you also need to be smooth when starting to apply the brakes, wait for the suspension to compress, then apply full pressure as your confidence/ABS allows. Looking forward to see you get faster. 🤙
