Actor Samuel L. Jackson has shared his thoughts on appearing in "Oscar-bait" movies. In an interview with Variety, Jackson says that he would rather focus on making more mainstream movies than ones that are typically considered for Academy Awards.

Jackson was previously nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor after playing Jules Winnfield in director Quentin Tarantino's 1994 film Pulp Fiction. However, he did receive an honorary Academy Award earlier this year.

I wish more actors would adapt this approach. A lot of actors end up extremely jaded chasing trophies instead of being a part of projects they actually enjoy.

Sam Jackson is a mf’ing LEGEND. He doesn’t need some little ass statue to prove that. He is THE man. Amazing actor with so many iconic roles. Keep doing what you love Mr. Jackson, we’re loving it too! 🙌🏽

Isn't he in the highest grossing movie total of any actor ever? How would this be a surprise?

That's how you earn someone's respect. Should have gotten an Oscar for Django.

As it should be. No actor should be taking a role for the sole purpose of winning an Oscar, and a lot of them do. Good for him!

I would too if they pay me millions of dollars for just reading a few scripts.
