He may regret selling it when he gets older

The sound of the doors and trunk closing on that is so satisfying. Gotta love that German over engineering. No wonder people loved these cars. I think I heard that these cars have over 1 million miles on them, in places like Morocco.

I've had my 1983 300D turbo since 1991.
Every time I think about selling it, I meet someone at the gas pump saying: "I wish I had never sold mine". Then I drive it for another 50k miles.
306k miles, and it still purrs like brand new...

So, forever = 2 1/2 years. Sounds about right for 2021.

I bought my W123 after watching your first video of this car. I love it. My kids look at me weird when I just gush about driving it. But I don’t think I’ll ever get rid of it. 1982 300D, best car money I ever spent.

Sold my 240D about 15 years ago, and I do regret it.

My father bought a 1983 300d, no turbo in 1984 in Germany from exc at Benz. Had it shipped to Houston. My dad’s name is stamped on the vin plate as name of importer. I own it today. Has 60000 miles on it. 4 speed. Still runs great.

We still have 1 of 2 W123. Both bought new. One was a wagon. The sedan we still have. No plans on parting with it. It's a fixture in our garage.

I love the purring of this engine at low revs. Feels as soothing as a cat's.

I can’t believe the negative comments about Tommy. If you think him selling the car is a mistake go buy it yourself. I have emailed Tommy a few times and he always responds and is truly a nice guy. So stop insulting him he’s a real person who deserves human respect. I understand disagreement on selling but not personal insults.

Noooo!! Don't do it! I so regret selling mine. If your car was silver, I'd be bidding. Good luck, I'm sure it will bring a good price.

Tommy, you're going to miss this one, Ill bet!
I'd love to own this MB, but the cost to have it shipped to my home in Canada would be the price of the car again, I'd imagine.
Somebody's going to own a great car.

Bought mine in 2009 after my tour in Afghanistan ( gift from me to me ). Back then, it had 188, 000 km, now sitting at almost 450, 000km. Sometime I want to sell it but I slap myself in the face and wake up ! 😉 There'll never be a car that is so well put toghether with a buller proof engine, ever made again. Nowadays , cars are made to last 10 - 15 years and then, they are not even worth fixing !

The odometers break if you reset the trip while driving. Only reset the trip when parked.
