For reference, the word is not "bird" in Hebrew. It is עוֹף pronounced Ope, and it means a flying creature. It is translated as bird many times, but also as 'flying' in general. I am Jewish and you have to remember that Christianity is based on the Hebrew scriptures, so don't always trust your English translation. Bat is a flying creature, and so there is no contradiction here.

Am just wondering how a globe can have a "foundation" and a "canopy". Also the sun moves around the earth because that's the reason the sun could be ordered to "stand stil" and also to "move back"

So luckily he is mixing science and religion to form a narrative in this topic, but it would be hard to not question him in topics such as evolution and age of the Earth since he seems like someone who would let his religion set his mind.

Pure fix I would like to see the good doctor put his money where is mouth is and come onto Nathan Oakley 1980 to discuss Flat earth since he says there hasn’t been a flat earth argument he couldn’t beat.

What the church got wrong was not the shape of the earth but rather the location. The earth was thought to be at the center of the solar system not the sun. Spin that.

Having a alternative view of the earth (flat) is not wrong and should be pursued if it actually fits better than the current view of the earth (sphere). However, the flat earth does not explain the earth and observations and there is no unified model, mathematical construct, or fits any observations that is already explained by the sphere earth model. I am open to alternative views that are backed by evidence and observations that can be verified by other scientists and mathematics. Yet, flat earth does not fit and will not be accepted until this happens. So, please refrain from presenting the flat earth as fact without providing a unifying model backed by math and all observations.

I think you really hit the nail on the head on regards to flat earth people on several points.

It's so true that a 20 year old flat earther thinks he can read the Bible and think he is then qualified to tell everyone what the Hebrew means, etc.

Thinking that he knows more about physics than physicists, more about astronomy then astronomers, etc.

And how they then look down on you, thinking you're the deceived one, and how they "congratulate themselves for being very smart and spiritual as to 'get this'" while the rest of us are not as "dedicated Christians" as they are.

I think your allusion to it being similar to ancient gnosticim was brilliant.

How these people feel they know "this deep, dark secret, that the world has been perpetuating a lie all this time and THEIR eyes have been enlightened!"

I felt it so long ago that arrogance and ignorance were what bothered me and turned me off, even as I felt inadequate myself to take on thoughts too great for me personally.

I know the knowledge that comes from above is is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits...

The arrogance and the refusal to hear Christians more learned about such matters, even just in math and science skills, tipped me off long ago.

I do wish however that you would please go over all the 240+ verses that you investigated and found wanting.

He doesn't know what he is talking about. We have Christians writings that show opposition to a spherical Earth. Lactantius, a Christian apologist who lived from about 240 - 320 CE, argued for a flat earth and against a spherical one in his work, Divine Institutes, Book III (Of the False Wisdom of Philosophers)

“Chapter XXIV.—Of the Antipodes, the Heaven, and the Stars.
How is it with those who imagine that there are antipodes opposite to our footsteps? Do they say anything to the purpose? Or is there any one so senseless as to believe that there are men whose footsteps are higher than their heads? or that the things which with us are in a recumbent position, with them hang in an inverted direction? that the crops and trees grow downwards? that the rains, and snow, and hail fall upwards to the earth? And does any one wonder that hanging gardens are mentioned among the seven wonders of the world, when philosophers make hanging fields, and seas, and cities, and mountains? The origin of this error must also be set forth by us. For they are always deceived in the same manner. For when they have assumed anything false in the commencement of their investigations, led by the resemblance of the truth, they necessarily fall into those things which are its

consequences. Thus they fall into many ridiculous things; because those things which are in agreement
with false things, must themselves be false. But since they placed confidence in the first, they do not consider the character of those things which follow, but defend them in every way; whereas they ought to judge from those which follow, whether the first are true or false.
