I've never used it before but I think it would be better if you use the brush attachment on your hair first so you kinda prep it since your natural hair is not straight. And then use the curling attachment.

I got that for Christmas it’s so good. What I learned is that if u used a styling cream or mouse, the curls stay, also 40% wet and 60% dry is why I’ve found best. Also having about 1 inch sections makes the curls easier to wrap and more defined with volume. Hope this helps!!
