Thanks man for the video, Im also a quadcopter pilot (CX20 haha) and I took some pictures with the xiaomi yi cam in time lapse mode and got very blurry photos when they are taken from a long distance, close photos are awesome though. Is that problem because of this?

you should turn it CLOCKWISE not counter cl. ..if you do it ccl, you focus even more closer to the lens yes...every xiaomi has this because it's a sport model, designed to catch a person in a sport action ...like..from selfie rod or helmet mount, etc ....so focus is calibrated to be able to catch the person and it's close surrounding yes, I also did this mod to make it a panoramatic camera

Great help, thanks. I think this cam will be fine for my Parrot Ar drone 2.0. Hope I'll mount cam on my copter, but movements is not so plain on video, looks like CPU cannot  save all frames in good quality with that setup. Must be codecs issue.

why do you focus on a close subject if you have already close focused issue? focus on something 100meters away!
and use zoom sript!

+quadcopter flyers is it required to use the HDMI cable just to see how the lense will adjust? can I use wifi directly to my phone as a replacement?

I got it going again doing a reset by pushing the shutter button and the WiFi button at same time and holding it for about a minute or so. Then I did the micro-SD card firmware reload and everything works fine. Don't know what caused it, but was able to remove front panel and refocus it, too.

*You're doing it WRONG!!! to fix the front focusing issue you need to calibrate it focusing on a DISTANT object, NOT on a close one!*

Hi, did you glue the lens back after adjustment?
i have the exact same problem with the lens :(

It would probably be better to adjust the focus for a subject at around 3 to 5 feet / 1 to 2 meters away.
