I'm thinking about doing the same! I just replaced a boring beige lamp that I've HATED for years and bought a gorgeous vintage stained glass lamp for $10 at a garage sale! You hit it on the head when you said "$3 for this much joy!" that's how I feel!

I bought a vintage butter bell for the same reason. I also have a vintage butter dish for the fridge. Neither were really needed, but they weren't expensive and they bring me joy

I’ve kept butter in the cupboard my entire life because I want the butter to be soft when I’m spreading it. It always blows my mind that people keep butter in the fridge as if it goes bad you’d be surprised at how long it takes butter to go bad on the counter, you use it up well before that amount of time!!!

Fair warning, we had the exact same one growing up and came home one day and our dog had somehow eaten the butter and then got the lid back on. That dog was dumb, but when it came to stealing food she was an evil genius

I need this! My hubby doesn’t like toasted bread in the morning but he likes buttered bread. Issue is the butter is in the fridge 😅

It's actually ok for butter to be left out, yes, it oxidizes faster than kept in the fridge but if you're using it within around a week, it's a non-issue and even if it does oxidize a little bit it's still fine to eat, just not quite as "buttery".

I love the butter dish but make sure it’s not a vintage one they will almost always contain lead
