There was also an earlier moment where Larry had no money, so gave some written comedy material to his comedian friend Carol Leifer as a birthday present. At the birthday party, Jerry was asked to read the material, and got big laughs from it. This is where Jerry and Larry came to the realization that Larry's writing coming out of Jerry's mouth was a great combination.

no wonder, the HBO comedy series, "Curb your Enthusiasm" somewhat similar to Seinfeld because Larry David was the co-producer of that show. kudos to him and I like it. 😉

This is the unique gift of Larry David. He has no pretense of being a rare talent that should interest anyone. He’s not selling anything. He has just milled around comedic venues doing what he always does whether on screen, or off and someone who was on screen invited him to be a part of that. And Larry had nothing to offer, other than what he does all day every day, and he has made two of the most enjoyable, enduring shows with the exact same format based on that. CYE just doesn’t pretend that the George character isn’t Larry.

It’s not a show about nothing — that’s a joke. It’s a show about people, about all of us, and how ridiculous we can all be. And that’s what the characters do, they turn ordinary life into plausible but ridiculous situations, maybe just a little over the top. Like the episode where they spend all their time looking for their car in the parking garage, and this very ordinary experience spirals out of control.
