We go for a trip on the Strathspey Railway, a heritage line that runs from Aviemore to Broomhill. They are hoping to get funding to extend the line to Grantown On Spey. It's also the end of our Speyside Tour as we leave Glenmore Camping in the Forest site.

AMAZING. Being aged 56, I have no recollection of steam trains being in regular service, but I love them. My dad won't mind me saying that he will be 90 next Birthday and he recalls his first ever train journey. ''Alone aged 18, I'd never left my hometown before. I had to take four steam trains from Nuneaton to Kircubright in Scotland to begin my National Service. It seemed to take for hours and hours and to this day, I still cannot define whether I was excited or frightened to death''. A little note from my dad. Thanks for this Bob x

Really enjoyed the steam train ride. It’s a pleasure to see all the heritage railways opening up again after such a long time. I hope to get a ride on one next year. 😃👍🏻 Trev

We had a holiday near Aviemore in July. We also went on the steam train with afternoon tea, which we enjoyed very much.

Great video Bob. I’m no train buff but that engine looked a fantastic piece of engineering.

That lovely old steam train brought back memories, of when I used to travel on them in my younger days. My late Dad was fascinated with steam trains. I think that was partly because my Grandfather worked for the railways in London. I enjoyed joining you on the train trip, Bob Jenny and the two girls. It gives me joy to watch the vlogs of your travels. Stay safe.

Another one I have not been on. Its great to see the Black Five in its LMS colours. What with one thing and another we have not had a chance to do any preserved railways this year but we shall have a good try next year.

Steam trains always remind me of my Dad when he took me to Flitwick station to pick up his yearly supply of chicks in the late 50s/early 60s. It was the last old commercial steam train I ever saw and although I was very young I remember it well.

That train ride looked good. Must do that. Boat of Garten is where the first osprey nest was in 1956 after being extinct since nefore WW1. Although I have been through Aviemore on the train to Inverness I hadn't realised that the steam train shares the same station. Take care driving home and greetings to the NW! Oh yes Jenny that was a cool notice women are always right. 👍😀
