God used Tony Evans to bring me to salvation and repentance some 35 years ago when I lived in Dallas. Praying for him and the congregation.

I am a member of Oakcliff. He is as close to God as any man can be. Yet he is a man. I am so devastated I can't even comment. He has been so instrumental in my spiritual growth. I love him and pray for him. Please don't bash him. He has saved many lives. And his doctrine is sound.

Good for him & for the elders. We need integrity in our pulpits.

Pastor Tony Evans Bible teachings have been such a blessing in my family and my life. I thank God for him and ask the Lord to help and restore his servant. Any of us CAN fail the Lord, but God is faithful and true. I will continue to pray for Pastor Tony Evans and family. We all need to help one another, and not stab one another.

At least the Holy Spirit convicted him. More religious leaders need to step down and heal as well!

This is so refreshing to see in terms of following Biblical standards and instruction in the church today.

As for the comments, I applaud him for not letting pride get in the way. First, above his title as pastor, we are still obligated to practice Galatians 6:1 and pray for his restoration in Jesus's name

I think he's getting ahead of whatever has happened. I praise God for using him as a resource to encourage me as a single woman in my 20's. God bless you ABUNDANTLY!

If he made this decision by the CONVICTION of the Holy Spirit, then I have so much respect for him. SO many are living a lifestyle of sin and will stay in the pulpit as if nothing is wrong. I thank God that his spirit is real and the word of God and his foundation of truth can NEVER be compromised, debated, watered down, or dismissed. God is a holy and righteous God and he expects the same from us. I told God months ago that if a MILLION people are going in a direction that seems right, but if his spirit convicts me to go in another direction, than so be it. I would rather be alone, muddle along and be a peace to please and honor God.

Pastor Evans was the guest Pastor at my church Brooklyn Tabernacle about two weeks ago. He was amazing. Hi style was a mix of old school preaching and Bible study.

This can happen to anyone of us if we don't cut off the sin in our life!

I love Tony Evans’ preaching, love it and will continue to listen to his sermons. Wherever he fell short as long as he is repenting. Kudos to them for following the procedure

Rev. Evan did what he was supposed to do . He is taking the due discipline what more can he do? I pray for his total restoration.

Bro, he did not take accountability. It happened years ago, which means he’s been hiding it, and only was forced out and pressured out. He played around with a bunch of semantics like he didn’t commit any crimes? And won’t tell anybody what it actually was did he did. Sounds more like to me that he was forced into confession.

So if Tony Evans is stepping down due to something he feels convicted by, can you imagine what other pastors are feeling now? The standard should be set high for pastors, but we shouldn't require them to be perfect. Praying for Tony!!

I don't trust someone who can't say what they did wrong.
